Dubrovnik, Croatia was the final leg of our May 2019 trip and also the original inspiration for the whole trip in the first place. Like so many others, Emily and I are huge Game of Thrones fans, so after reading that many of the series’ scenes were filmed in Dubrovnik, I knew this would be my next destination abroad. We spent a total of 5 days in Dubrovnik which included a day long trip into Montenegro. I’ll never forget peering out at the seemingly never-ending Adriatic Sea while surrounded by Dubrovnik’s famed red rooftops from atop the city’s ancient stone walls. I’ve been to many beautiful places, but so far, to me, Dubrovnik is untouched by the others in its ability give the tourist a bit of everything: old world charm, fascinating history, adventurous excursions, unique culture, and breathtaking scenery beyond your expectations!
